Business Problem
After setting up Odoo, the company encountered minor system errors and struggled with unorganized development efforts. The development process was fragmented across multiple freelancers, with no centralized planning or documentation. Additionally, their initial Odoo integrator was slow to respond and costly, making it difficult to resolve issues quickly.
Also, the company was using Odoo version 16 hosted on a third-party cloud server, which resulted in relatively high infrastructure costs. As they were actively looking for ways to optimize expenses, the need for a more cost-efficient and scalable hosting solution became a key consideration.
One of the critical challenges involved the Serbian accounting module, which had technical limitations when deployed on Odoo.sh. It behaved inconsistently and was considered unstable in that environment. Additionally, the module required monthly updates to remain functional, creating a risk of system failure if updates were delayed and increasing the need for continuous developer involvement.
Key Solution
VentorTech consolidated all development activities under a single, efficient team. This included creating structured documentation, streamlining communication, and ensuring faster turnaround times for development tasks and bug fixes.
We successfully completed the migration to Odoo.sh and, as part of this process, also performed a version upgrade from Odoo 16 to Odoo 18.
We addressed challenges related to the Serbian accounting module by bypassing Odoo.sh’s technical restrictions for Serbian localization modules and setting up an automated update flow. This eliminated the need for constant developer involvement, ensuring stability, compliance, and long-term maintainability without additional operational overhead.
Results
As a result, the client reduced infrastructure costs, improved system stability, and streamlined development through a unified team. The upgrade to Odoo 18 and migration to Odoo.sh provided a scalable environment, while the automated update flow for the Serbian accounting module ensured ongoing compliance without manual intervention.
